The Procter & Gamble Company is an American multinational consumer goods corporation headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, founded in 1837 by William Procter and James Gamble.

I worked in process development to try to expand the processing capabilities for a specific product line, as they wanted new specs that were not achievable with current process parameters. The project was very ambiguous and open-ended which did not fit well with me. 

Probably affected my experience as I felt more isolated than an usual internship would.

I created a scale-up plan to improve Lubrastrip bars on razors in order to further drive product innovation. This included researching machines, creates a block diagram for the process, talking to vendors and creating proposals, and creating a detailed document with my work over the summer. I also created a dashboard to predict technician interactions on the machines using SEEQ.

Really difficult to get a feel for the company while remote. 

I increased the PR of two lines, installed a way to place tips on foamy cans, conducted the Pride month events, contributed to meaningful work, not just intern stuff

Digitized paper records of maintenance plans, captured an experts knowledge on one specific part of a machine, targeted and drove out a loss from a part causing unplanned stops

Manager was too busy with COVID's effect on company so he delegated one of his subordinate. His subordinate had no idea what my manager wanted and she also never done my position so she just gave random(and often wrong) information. Was given the broadest assignments(How to make customer more loyal to one of our retailers, How to make our ecommerce strategy more efficient) with zero communication or guidance. The subordinate my manager gave me was worse than useless. One time, she gave me the wrong dataset which wasted a week of my time. Another time, she told me to not control for retailers' regional performance variations which led to some horrible results. This company is full of lifers and as such many people who stay are typically not the brightest and have nowhere else to go. The only good thing is that P&G is a brand name and the projects they gave me sound so good that I leveraged it for a six-figure job elsewhere. Company's pay practice explicitly states that seniority has equal or more impacts than performance. They also has been watering down the profit sharing plan so it's not even worthwhile to stay. Consumer Market Knowledge, now Analytics and Insights, pays around $75k strategy. Most people work more than 8 hours a day. Don't expect any impact as I saw many other deliverables by employees being shelved in the archives.

Wild goose chase for a problem that had already been solved. My experience was atypical, from what I saw. Location is key, pick a location with a big internship program.

Worked with Material Utilization to reduce warehouse loss and data discrepancies. Designed new production floor plan and built digital visualization tool for material loss

I was given four projects focused on preventative maintenance, optimization, and cost-saving. While analyzing data I was given the freedom to problem solve and implement solutions that I thought would be the most impactful. 
For one of my projects, I  designed and installed a physical modification to the machine lines in my department. I also worked with outside vendors and people across departments/disciplines to complete my projects. This was truly one of the most rewarding internships I have had.

Two Main Projects:
-Competitive Intelligence looking at financial analysis of primary competitors to P&G's shaving brands
-Strategic Revenue Management looking at global compliance to P&G's global pricing policy

I worked with a close knit team to improve the quality of certain products. Very straightforward, identify which ingredients affect that property and tweak. 

The interns are given 4-6 projects to be completed in the summer. These projects are usually safety, optimization, and cost saving projects that require working with all employees and outside vendors to install and create new pieces for the machine or improve the machine's current quality. 

Re-zoned the warehouse and drop lot, installed safety systems, investigated glue loss areas

Improving the time it takes to changeover the manufacturing line, documenting the changes, and training the technicians to utilize the new process.

Front End Innovation for Charmin creating new softening chemistries using different main actives.
