My experience

Overview

Created a signal processing module using python to detect noise caused by lightning. Created data visualizations to characterize noise. Tested and implemented real time signal processing software.

Pros

Everyone is nice and easy to talk to No corporate feel Can get a top secret security clearance Campus has gym, beach volleyball, basketball, and baseball Clubs and events Set your own hours (mostly) Easy to ask for the work that you want to do Easy to make lifelong friends with other interns

Cons

Experience varies depending on the group Confusing organizational structure Sometimes felt like work was slow Not the most fun location wise Need a car/ride to commute there Doesn’t provide housing

Impact of work

Advice on how to prepare

Interview depends on the group. Been told that most people’s interviews are chill and not very technical.
