Integrated System Intern
Department: Integrated Systems
My experience
Overview
In my first summer I helped code a demo IOS app for a major client. Ran analysis and data collection on pediatric air eliminating filters and IV sets. Lastly documented the test procedure details and entered results. These were the three major uses of my time, but there were plenty of other projects that I was minimally involved with just by asking to assist.
This is a great internship especially for under classmen that are seeking to get involved in the medical space. There is a wide range of projects and areas of expertise. Especially in the integrated systems department, you can chose to get involved in the mechanical, electrical, or software side (just simply express what area you'd like to explore). Additionally, the company culture is great and you will be spending a lot of time with the upper management at the company since it is small to mid-range.
Would recommend it to people who...
are looking for a wide range of work in the medical space since it is an agency.
Would NOT recommend it to people who...
require a structured schedule. Since you need to find billable work, there are a range of projects to get involved with, but you must actively seek these out by asking project managers.
