ImmunoOncology Research Intern in MRL
My experience
Overview
Used data analysis and literature review to create a proposal for a lupus antibody drug conjugate. It was pretty interesting but the internship being remote made the work much different (would've been better in person and more lab bench work based)
Would recommend it to people who...
Are interested in lab bench work, want to work in pharma, have a decent bit of experience with cellular biology and lab work
Would NOT recommend it to people who...
Are more interested in an technical engineering centered role, don't like technical cellular research
Impact of work
How much knowledge or experience was needed going in (pre-requisites)?
Time spent working
How did working remote affect your experience?
Very different, was supposed to be a lab based internship and I did a remote data analysis/literature research project. They will switch back to in person as soon as COVID allows

Advice on how to prepare
Very easy and causal interviews HOWEVER this was because I applied on the Merck website for a random MRL internship, which is different from the internships they are recruiting for at the GT career fair for Merck which has a more extensive interview process
