My experience

Overview

Worked on re-designing the power meter offered with their power panels. Involved a lot of CAD work, hands-on prototyping, documentation, and BOM work. They gave me full ownership of the project which was really cool, but personally not super interested in the Electrification industry so it wasn't super inspiring.

Pros

Complete ownership of work, was given full responsibility and treated as an equal team member. Got to participate in Scrum meetings and learn Agile methodology. Good internship environment, plenty of other interns and fun events. Got to work from home a few days a week.

Cons

Living in Hartford, CT.

Interview advice

How did you find the job / apply?

Interview Rounds

Interview type

Interview questions

Generic online video interview for first round, asked basic questions about yourself, why you're intersted in working for ABB, and then some problem solving questions like "Estimate the number of gas stations in the United States." 2nd round was a 1 hour long 1 on 1 interview with the program Manager. Was very laid back and not like the typical structured behavioral interviews where they're throwing questions at you. Pretty much talked through my resume and discussed my past experiences.

Advice on how to prepare

Talk specifically about in the Rotational program as well as whatever division you would like to go into. (Electrification, Automation, etc.)
