Overview
Helped the bank team with Capital Markets audit. Completed DE and OE testing for board reporting and model testing controls.
Really great company to work for and exceeded expectations. I didn't know anything about internal auditing, but it doesn't matter. Everyone in my intern group got a full-time offer except me and 1 other person, but only because we had graduate school to finish after undergrad.
Pros
Felt meaningful. Got my name put on the final report. Lots of help and feedback from managers.
Cons
Took halfway through the internship to get put on a project. I guess they forgot to assign me work so I had to speak up.

It was difficult to truly connect with people, but with the nature of the work given, it was convenient for me to just complete all my work at home

Advice on how to prepare
Overall just be professional and have some sort of leadership experience. I had barely any legit work experience and knew nothing about audit, but they were super nice and gave me the internship.
