My experience

Overview

Sustainability Partner Outreach: Led outreach to composting & waste hauling businesses across the country to create a national partnership network for holistic waste management deals. Investor Deck Support: Met one-on-one with the CEO to develop case studies, problem & metric slides, and a heat map for the next multimillion dollar funding round. Non-Profit Economic Impact Report: Used Tableau to create an interactive map to showcase the amount of food and economic value Goodr has brought through surplus food recovery donations by zip code.

Pros

Casual work environment, very meaningful work, starts at 10am, great culture and team ("Do Goodrs!"), getting such ownership over projects, getting to work closely with one of the most prominent startup CEOs in the country. I love it!

Cons

You have to be proactive. My first boss was so hands off and only gave me 3-4 long-term projects to work on that were very open ended, which was really difficult for the first 4-6 weeks. Although, this ultimately forced me to be proactive, which lead to me getting an extension for the Fall semester & the CEO has said she wants to hire me on after I graduate!

Impact of work

Time spent working

How did working remote affect your experience?

It was really nice as Goodr does 3 days in office and two days remote, it really helped change up the week and grind out tasks uninterrupted.

Advice on how to prepare

Practice effective communication skills, invest in learning tools over knowledge. Use your tools to gain knowledge and use that knowledge to sharpen your tools.
