My experience

Overview

Work was similar for each rotation. I was in charge of running tests on multiple systems of our blood banking units and characterizing their performance. It was a lot of sitting, running tests, collecting data, analyzing the data, and writing report/presentation. Sometimes I got to design and print some housing modules for an accelerometer used in testing, or a mount for a camera, but rarely did work that seemed fit for an ME from Gatech.

The work is more for a BME, but one of the BME co-op was not interested at all during the 3rd rotation just because of how fed up they were with the company wasting their time.

Pros

401k contribution, nice boss (Kenan Mobley, Jimmy Piper), espresso machine in the break room, the work I did can be easily overhyped on linkedin/resume. Other co-ops during my rotations, but the age gap to the next person in our team was 15-20 years.

Cons

A lot of sitting and doing absolutely nothing. I can't tell if it was bad management (not the fault of my aforementioned bosses) or just bad timing for the companies project. Some days I had 0 work and my boss knew that, so I just worked on my resume, portfolio, classes, and watching Netflix till I went home. 80% of the work I was doing was menial and could have been done by a high school student.

Interview advice

How did you find the job / apply?

Interview type

Interview questions

Barely behavioral, just talked about the job, if I was interested, nothing to worry about.

Advice on how to prepare

Honestly just apply and maybe have any other than school on your resume. Seems like any that applies could get the job.
